Hello Little Soldier!

We are so very excited about our first invited company, Little Soldier, who are bringing their fantastic show, You and Me. We asked them to share a few words about their part in this Residency adventure, and also a few sneaky rehearsal shots to whet your appetite. Don't forget, they are only performing at The Bike Shed for 3 nights, Thurs 21- Sat 23rd. They will also be offering their public theatre skills workshop, 'A Fun Approach to Storytelling' from 10-1 on the Saturday, and tickets are selling fast! Here's what Little Soldier have to say...

In exactly a weeks time, Little Soldier will be on the road, destination: Exeter! A few months ago we had a phone call from Chloe Whipple: ladies, would you like to take part in a Residency with Theatre Rush in May 2013? Now, to express the excitement over this proposition we can only go back few years ago... Chloe Whipple (Theatre Rush) and Merce Ribot (Little Soldier Productions) met at East 15 drama school in 2006, they had 3 years of training together, developed a great friendship, shared harmful ridiculous amounts of sneaky cigarettes during breaks and ended up living together in a caravan at the  Edinburgh Fringe'09!

After these few years of working together they moved to different cities and went on to join and create their theatres companies; both sharing a common ground: two young theatre companies with talented and strong wielded women running them. We share intimate stories with much honesty and most of all, with a very strong commitment to our work.

So when Chloe asked us to work participate in their residency with the possibility not only to share our work at the Bike Shed, but also to collaborate in Theatre Rush rehearsals development for their new show, we couldn't have been more excited and happy to join them in this adventure. For Little Soldier, the last year has been (and still is) a constant battle to to make things happen - always aiming for high quality work with the bare minimums- but when opportunities like this come along, we know it has all been worth it!

We'll see you at the theatre next week, at the rehearsal room and on Saturday's workshop! So much fun waiting for us... you can catch us this week smiling through our thick scarves and warm hats on our way to rehearsals!
Much love,The Soldiers
